COMPREHENSIVE LAB PACKAGES

Wellness Screen

$80

*or $70 when added to any vaccine or illness package

Wellness Screen + Thyroid Panel

$90

*or $80 when added to any vaccine or illness package

Annual wellness screens are highly recommended for pets 7 years of age and older, or for those experiencing health issues. Lab work can help with early detection of disease, which can lead to more optimal disease management. A wellness screen could also potentially be used for lab work that may be required prior to major procedures, surgery or dentals.

Lab Testing

Due to our laboratory pick-up schedule, please note the following guidelines:

Urine samples must be received between Monday-Friday, or as soon as we open at 10am on Saturdays. During the week, bringing a fresh sample either at 10am or after 4pm is best for analysis. Please collect sample in a clean container with a lid.

Bloodwork samples must be obtained by our staff between Monday-Friday, or as soon as we open at 10am on Saturdays.

Fecal samples may be collected at any time, but results may be delayed until Tuesday if delivered over the weekend. Please bring a small stool sample in a plastic bag/container when you visit with your pet. If you have 2 pets, please label each container with a name.

Other Services

If your pet is not visiting for vaccines, please remember to bring records showing proof of current rabies vaccine! Please note that rabies tags and postcard or email reminders are not proof unless they show all vaccine info (date given, date due, vaccine manufacturer/serial number). If your pet is not current, we can give a rabies vaccine at the same time as other services.

  • Heartworm Test

    $20.00

With all negative heartworm tests, a portable prescription will be generated for 6 months of heartworm prevention. Without documentation showing your dog had a negative test 12 months ago and has consistently taken heartworm prevention for the last 12 months, our standard of care is to recommend a re-test in 6 months (just $20).

Why is this important to us AND your dog?

The Companion Animal Parasite Council (CAPC)* advises twice-a-year testing for dogs living in areas known to have an abundance of mosquitos and active heartworm disease. If your dog has missed any doses of prevention, it is especially important to test regularly. We re-test in 6 months because heartworms must be approximately 6 months old before an infection can be diagnosed. Catching heartworm disease early is much safer for pets and easier to treat.
