Dr. Katheryn Hanson graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. She worked as a general practitioner for 13 years before joining the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps in 2006. She obtained her Master’s in Public Health from the University of South Florida in 2014 and is board accredited with the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine. She has recently transitioned from Active Duty to the Reserves so that she could return to Georgia to be closer to her family, and she is delighted to be able to once again pursue her true passion – helping people and their pets!

When she’s not tending to patients, Dr. Hanson enjoys spending time on the water, especially racing sailboats! Her dream travel destination is Norway, where she could explore the country’s beautiful fjords. Her personal motto is “Change is inevitable, growth is optional.”

We are certainly lucky to have her join our newest team in Calhoun, GA, where she’s eager to begin caring for pets! If you live in the Calhoun area, book a contact-free visit with Dr. Hanson: https://essentialspetcare.com/book-a-visit/
