The Annie’s Army Program supports Essentials PetCare’s mission to expand affordable and accessible, high-quality veterinary care to more US pets

LARGO, Fla. – Essentials PetCare announced its new Annie’s Army Program to support pet adoptions and the important work rescue groups do.  

Pets who have been adopted in the past 6 months can receive a complimentary exam – a $50 value – at Essentials PetCare. “Newly adopted pets should always receive a veterinary exam,” explains Douglas Spiker, DVM, a veterinarian and the cofounder and president of Essentials PetCare. “With an exam, new pet parents can have all their questions answered and get their four-legged friends on a preventive care schedule for long-term health.” A prescription for flea prevention can also be prescribed at the visit, if needed.  

Visits for complimentary adoption exams will also help other pets in need. Following each newly adopted pet’s first visit, the Annie’s Army Program will make a donation to participating pet shelters and rescue organizations.

Essentials PetCare is scheduling contact-free visits while COVID-19 transmission is still a concern. To participate in this special offer, pet parents can book a visit for their pet online and email their pets’ records, including proof of adoption, to their local clinic. Once visits are scheduled, pet parents will simply drop off their pet inside their local clinic’s door at their scheduled time, then watch their pets exam via live video.
