The company is introducing contact-free visits to accommodate CDC social distancing recommendations during the pandemic

LARGO, Fla. – Essentials PetCare is reopening its clinics to pets for vaccinations, minor illness care, and lab testing, all while maintaining CDC social distancing recommendations. 

“As an organization founded on the principles of protecting the welfare of both animals and humans, Essentials PetCare is committed to the protection of public health,” says Essentials PetCare cofounder and COO, Christine Battista, MS. “Our veterinarians have used their training in infectious disease contagion and management to ensure our new operating procedures keep both our team members and clients safe.” 

The clinics, which were originally designed to see pets on a walk-in basis, will operate with scheduled visits during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure that all precautions and preparations are taken for each patient to enjoy a safe and easy visit.  

The booking process for Essentials PetCare’s Hybrid Visits™ is 100% contact-free. Once a client submits a visit request, an Essentials PetCare team member will give the client a call to discuss the pet’s medical history, services, collect payment, and complete booking over the phone. 

At the pet’s scheduled visit time, the client will safely drop-off the pet at the front of the clinic then return to their car. Scheduled visits take 15 minutes on average, and if an exam is included, the client can join a video call with the doctor and watch the pet’s exam. The team will follow-up with the client for any lab results, and the client can choose from reputable pharmacies with authorized products to fill their pets’ medications. 

New patients can take advantage of these contact-free visits for any medical service. Existing patients who have visited Essentials PetCare in the past 11 months can visit for vaccines, heartworm tests, or other lab work. These current patients are also eligible for virtual minor illness exams and select lab testing with no clinic visit needed.
