Mariah Gentry was born and raised in Georgia but has traveled all over the United States to pursue her passion of working with animals. She received her Animal Science degree from Tuskegee University in Alabama and worked with the nutrition team at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Florida before attending Cornell University School of Veterinary Medicine in New York.

As a veterinary student, she had opportunities to intern with the Tennessee Aquarium, the National Institutes of Health in Maryland, and AWARE Wildlife Center in her hometown of Lithonia, Georgia. After graduating veterinary school in 2016, her special love for baby animals led her to a fellowship in Genetics, Reproduction, and Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania. A different type of love brought her back to Georgia, as she married her college crush, Jeremiah in 2019. They welcomed their new baby in September of 2021, and he grows more and more curious each day.

When she’s not tending to EPC patients, she works remotely with researchers at the University of Pennsylvania to shed light on potentially genetic diseases in dogs and tutors children in her community. She enjoys spending her free time snuggled up on the couch with her family for part of the day, followed by hours of spontaneity – hopefully to include lots of games, good music, and great food!

We are certainly lucky to have such an ambitious addition to our team of veterinarians. Dr. Gentry is excited to help more pet families in the Loganville, Georgia, area, and hopes to meet your pet soon!
